Vaishnavi Sharma was born on 18 December 2005 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, a region not traditionally known for women’s cricket. She comes from a well-educated and supportive family.

Her father, Narendra Sharma, is a professor at Jiwaji University and also practices astrology. He famously predicted Vaishnavi’s success in sports at the time of her birth. Her mother, Asha Lata Sharma, is a homemaker, and her elder brother Abhishek Sharma is an engineer.

Her breakthrough came in the 2024–25 domestic season, where she recorded career-best bowling figures of 5/16 in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.

Internationally, she became a key member of India’s U-19 team in the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 held in Malaysia. She took 17 wickets, including a hat-trick on debut against Malaysia, and played a major role in India lifting the trophy.
