Early Life

Parupalli Kashyap was born in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, and raised in Hyderabad. His father’s job led the family to shift frequently, including a move to Bengaluru, where Kashyap trained at the Prakash Padukone Academy.

At just 11, he began formal badminton training under S.M. Arif in Hyderabad. In 2004, Kashyap was diagnosed with asthma, which threatened to end his career. But with consistent medication and strong willpower, he overcame the condition and trained under Pullela Gopichand, setting the foundation for his future.
