Wamiqa Gabbi completed her schooling at St. Xavier’s School, Chandigarh. She later earned a graduation degree from D.A.V. College, Chandigarh. Alongside her studies, she learned Kathak dance and has a keen interest in poetry and painting.

Acting Career

Wamiqa’s acting journey began at age 8 with the Punjabi TV serial Saude Dillan De. In 2007, while in 8th grade, she got a small role in the film Jab We Met. Later, in 2009 and 2010, she played minor roles in Love Aaj Kal and Mausam.

In 2013, she landed her first lead role in the Bollywood film Sixteen, which focused on the lives of teenagers and tackled issues like pregnancy and revenge porn.

That same year, she appeared in a Punjabi film alongside Yo Yo Honey Singh and Amrinder Gill, and worked with Diljit Dosanjh in Ishq Brandy and Ishq Haazir Hai. In 2013, she also debuted in Tollywood with the Telugu film Bhale Manchi Roju and starred in Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22. In 2017, her performance in Kulwinder Billa’s song Angreji Wali Madam was widely appreciated.
