Rohed Khan Early Life and Background

Rohed Khan was born in Afghanistan in 1995, and his family moved to Linz, Austria, when he was a child to escape regional instability. He grew up speaking German and Persian at home and later became fluent in English and Hindi. His interest in Indian cinema began early, sparked by watching Shah Rukh Khan’s Main Hoon Na dubbed into German on Austrian television.

That fascination eventually pulled him toward Mumbai. After a difficult breakup in Austria, Khan told his parents he was traveling elsewhere, flew to India without booking a hotel, and decided to build a new life in the Hindi film industry. He began his professional path as a model, landing a Gillette campaign before shifting his focus to acting.

Rohed Khan Education

Khan completed his schooling in Austria before training as an actor in Mumbai, where he took a six-month diploma course at Roshan Taneja’s acting school and also trained with Act Brighton in the United Kingdom.

Rohed Khan’s Family

Rohed Khan’s parents left Afghanistan for Austria when he was young, seeking a more stable environment for the family, though their names have not been made public. He has a brother, Idriz Sanie, an Afghan-born Austrian singer, and a sister who has also appeared in his career story, once advising him to take a global opportunity over a Bollywood commitment.

Khan has also collaborated creatively with his brother, writing the story for Idriz’s music video “An/Kaash.” Family remains part of his public narrative, and he has credited his mother’s advice about staying humble and treating people well on the way up as something he tries to carry into his career.

Rohed Khan Personal Life

Khan is unmarried and keeps most of his personal life private. In October 2025, he was photographed dining with actress Zareen Khan in Mumbai, which sparked dating speculation, but he quickly told reporters they were “good friends” who had simply met for dinner, and no relationship was ever confirmed.

Fitness and martial arts occupy much of his time outside acting. He holds a second-degree black belt in karate, has trained in kickboxing and judo, and has spoken about disciplined physical transformations for roles, including gaining significant weight over a short period to play a menacing antagonist. He has also said he quit smoking in 2020 to focus fully on his training.

Rohed Khan Career

Khan’s path into acting began in modeling, where an early Gillette campaign in Austria gave him his first professional break. After moving to Mumbai, casting director Shanoo Sharma noticed him and brought him in to audition for Karan Johar’s Takht, a project he won a role in before it was ultimately shelved. He made his true screen debut in 2023, playing the antagonist Sarqalam opposite Kangana Ranaut in Tejas, a role he has said pushed him to study extremist mindsets through method acting.

In 2024, Khan took on the role of Head Militant in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan alongside Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, reportedly gaining significant weight in a short period to fit the character’s imposing presence. Around the same time, he turned down a signed contract for the second season of Squid Game because of a scheduling clash, choosing to honor his Bollywood commitment instead, a decision he has said his sister disagreed with at the time.
