Jon Gruden is an American football coach and TV personality. In February 2025, he became the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders for the third time in his career. Born August 17, 1963, in Sandusky, Ohio, Gruden is known for leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to victory in Super Bowl XXXVII (2003).
Over the years, he has worked with NFL teams, college football programs, and ESPN as a Monday Night Football analyst. In 2025, he rejoined the Raiders after Chip Kelly’s departure and won a legal case against the NFL.

Jon Gruden Early Life
Jon grew up in a football family. His father Jim Gruden was a college coach, and his mother Kathy took care of the home. His brothers are Jay Gruden (former NFL coach) and James Gruden. He played quarterback at Clay High School in South Bend, Indiana, before attending Muskingum College, where he earned a B.A. in Communications. He also briefly studied at the University of Dayton.
