He also authored the book The NYPD’s War on Terror: The True Story of the 9/11 Intelligence Revolution (2010), detailing the intelligence challenges and lessons of post-9/11 policing.

In 2024, Mauro became a contributor for Fox News, offering legal and security analysis across FNC and FBN shows. He also runs The Ops Desk, a Substack platform dedicated to deep dives on policing, intelligence, and criminal justice.
