HARDY was born and raised in Philadelphia, Mississippi, a small town of just over 7,000 people. He grew up surrounded by country living—hunting, fishing, and playing guitar by the age of 10. His father, Mike Hardy, worked as a contractor, and his mother, Sarah Hardy, was a teacher.

HARDY attended Neshoba Central High School, graduating in 2008. He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Songwriting from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in 2012.
