Katrina Campins Background

Early Life Story

Katrina Campins was born on October 22, 1979, in Miami, Florida. She grew up in Coral Gables, a wealthy and competitive neighborhood known for its high property values.

Her parents were Cuban-American immigrants, and she has credited them with giving her a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive from a young age. She often says the “Cuban immigrant spirit” passed down by her family shaped her entire approach to business and life.

She flipped her first investment property at age 17. By age 18, she had already obtained her real estate license.

Her mother Sofia Campins is an entrepreneur who runs a jewelry and bracelet business. Katrina has described her mother as her greatest source of inspiration.

Family Background

Her father, Randolfo Francisco Campins, passed away in 2023. She has spoken publicly about his influence on her values.

She married fellow real estate broker Ben Moss in August 2004. Together they co-founded The Campins Company. After their divorce in 2009, Katrina took over as the sole head of the company.

In 2013, she married Mustafa Marzuk at Miami City Hall. This marriage was kept secret during the filming of her TV show Hot Listings Miami, which was being marketed as showing her life as a single professional. The couple later divorced.1

She is now a single mother raising her son Pharaoh Maximus Moses, born on October 27, 2017.

Education

Katrina enrolled at the University of Miami where she studied International Finance and Marketing at the Herbert Business School. She was deeply focused on her academics and reportedly slept only three hours a night to balance her studies with her early real estate work.

She graduated in 2001 with a perfect 4.0 GPA, finishing in the top 10 percent of her class. She received scholarship offers from several elite universities including Cornell University but chose to stay in Miami to grow her real estate career.

Professional Journey

Early Real Estate Career

Katrina entered real estate at age 17 by flipping her first property. At 18, she got her real estate license and joined the brokerage firm Wimbish-Riteway Realtors while still a university student.

She earned her first six-figure commission check as a student and became the youngest person ever inducted into the “Wimbish-Riteway Winners Circle,” a group for the company’s top producers.

After Wimbish-Riteway was acquired, she moved to Jeanne Baker Realty, where she became the firm’s number one top producer in her first year.

The Apprentice (2004)

In 2004, Katrina joined Season 1 of The Apprentice on NBC, hosted by Donald Trump. At 24 years old, she was one of the youngest contestants on the show.

She served as Project Manager twice during the competition and reached 6th place overall before being eliminated in Week 11. 2

Her time on the show gave her national exposure and became the launchpad for her media career. Trump publicly noted her strong potential after her elimination.

The Campins Company

In 2004, Katrina co-founded The Campins Company with Ben Moss. After their divorce in 2009, she became the sole CEO.

The company is a boutique luxury real estate brokerage in South Florida. It has a dedicated Sports and Entertainment group that handles property purchases and relocations for professional athletes, celebrities, and executives. She has personally represented over 342 celebrity and athlete clients.
