Early Life
Anna Smrek was born in Welland, Ontario, into a sports family. Her father, Mike Smrek, played in the NBA and won two championships with the Lakers. Her mother, Sanja Smrek, and grandfather, a Croatian water polo coach, encouraged her to try volleyball.
