She made history in 2025 by becoming the first woman to win the Florida Python Challenge, capturing 60 invasive Burmese pythons during the 10-day competition from July 11–20, and winning the $10,000 grand prize.
With over a decade of python hunting experience, Taylor also runs a private exotic animal rescue with her husband, Rhett, and operates a popular YouTube channel called Tobie’s Troop, which has over 227,000 subscribers. Taylor Stanberry grew up in Naples, Florida, where she spent her childhood catching toads and fishing with her father. Her passion for wildlife began at a young age and eventually led her into python hunting and animal rescue. “I’ve been looking for wildlife since I was a little kid,” she told The Naples Daily News.

Career
Taylor Stanberry has over 10 years of python hunting experience and works as a python contractor for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
In July 2025, she became the first woman to win the Florida Python Challenge, removing 60 Burmese pythons, including 30 hatchlings from one nest. She earned the $10,000 grand prize and gained national recognition.
Outside of competitions, Taylor runs a private exotic animal rescue specializing in primates and venomous snakes. She also offers snake relocation services in Southwest Florida.
With her husband, she operates the Tobie’s Troop YouTube channel, which documents global wildlife adventures. The channel has over 120 million views and 227,000 subscribers. She also has 69,000 Instagram followers and a smaller Facebook following.
