Priya Marathe Early Life

Priya Marathe was born in Thane, Maharashtra, on April 23, 1987. She grew up in a middle-class family and developed a love for acting at a young age. In school, she often took part in plays and dreamed of becoming a performer. Her mother, a yoga instructor, helped her stay disciplined and balanced, something Priya carried into her acting career.

Before entering television, Priya briefly worked at a call center but soon realized her true passion lay in acting. She also tried college in Mumbai but later dropped out to fully focus on her career. Thane’s culture and proximity to Mumbai inspired her to try theater and eventually move toward television roles.

Priya began her career in 2008 with the Marathi serial Ya Sukhano Ya, playing Pavani Adhikari. She went on to appear in shows like Char Divas Sasuche and Tuzech Mi Geet Gaat Aahe.

Her breakthrough came when she played Varsha in Pavitra Rishta (2009–2013), which made her a household name. The role even earned her a nomination at the Zee Rishtey Awards. She also showed her comic side in Comedy Circus and appeared in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.
