Giovanni Leoni was born in Rome, Italy, in 2006 and moved to Padua when he was five. He began his football journey with Vigontina before joining the youth academies of Cittadella and Padova. His talent was evident early on, and by the age of 16, he had already made his professional debut in Serie C.

Football Journey
Leoni made his professional debut for Padova on March 19, 2023, against AlbinoLeffe, becoming Italy’s youngest professional footballer of the season at just 16 years and 3 months.
In February 2024, he joined Sampdoria on loan, where he made 12 appearances and scored one goal in Serie B. By June 2024, he had signed permanently with Sampdoria before transferring to Parma for around $5 million in August 2024.
At Parma, Leoni played 17 Serie A matches during the 2024–25 season, scoring once and boasting an 88.7% pass completion rate. His aerial duel win rate of 63% was the highest among U20 players in Europe’s top five leagues.
