Incident That Led to Death

In March 2025, Brijesh showed his compassionate side by rescuing a stray puppy from a drain in his village. During the rescue, the dog bit his right-hand finger. The wound seemed minor, so he ignored it and did not take an anti-rabies vaccine.

Over the next few months, Brijesh continued training. But on 26 June 2025, he experienced numbness and pain during practice. Symptoms worsened with hydrophobia, confusion, and agitation—classic signs of rabies. He was taken to hospitals in Bulandshahr, Noida, and Delhi, but reportedly denied proper treatment.

On 27 June 2025, he was declared suspected rabies positive by doctors in Noida. While being taken to an Ayurvedic center in Mathura, Brijesh died en route. His death sent shockwaves through the sports and rural health communities. (News Artical)
